There are certain places, which are etched in your heart and mind viz. Switzerland, Denmark, Italy, and many more places of central and Eastern Europe. As I had already visited a few countries of Europe earlier like France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Rome, Austria, and Netherland. Hence, this time I was determined to cover different places of  Eastern Europe like the Czech Republic / Hungary / Austria, and especially Prague.  started with all the required paperwork as regard to getting my Schengen Visa and Air ticket and finally, I was all set to fly.

My first glimpse of Budapest city , while travelling to our Hotel.

Day 1
We had booked our ticket on Turkish Airlines, which was to leave from Mumbai at 6.30 am.
We reached the airport a little earlier, where we reported at the counter and took our respective boarding passes. Our Flight to Budapest was via. Istanbul and our layover time at Istanbul was hardly 1-1.30 hrs. we quickly ran and reached our flight gate at Istanbul and caught the connecting flight.

We reached Budapest Airport at 2.30 pm. After our immigration check at airport, we came out from the airport but not before buying our 72 hours Budapest Pass which ensured that we would be able to travel across all forms of transport for next 72 hours.( 72 hour Budapest Pass plus is very useful , It comes with many benefits like 20 % on various attractions etc., the card cost 69 Euro) Our Hotel drop was included in the pass so we were dropped at our Hotel by the mini bus. Enroute as usual we got into conversation with our driver and in all this conversation we never realized how the time passed away and we were at the doorstep of our hotel. For our stay we had booked an apartment, which had kitchen with utensils, microwave, gas burner and fridge etc. , location too was quite close to the major city attractions .

Dumping our bags and after getting fresh we left our hotel by 4pm to visit our first destination for the day Hungarian State Opera House, So here I go with my trip to Budapest,

Hungarian State Opera House,

Hey there, fellow wanderlusters! 🎭✨ If you’re wandering through the stunning streets of Budapest and suddenly feel like you’ve stumbled into a fairy tale, you’re probably close to the Hungarian Opera House. Let me take you on a fun tour of this magnificent place that’s just begging for your attention!

A Little Background: The Glamour of the 19th Century

First off, let’s talk history. The Hungarian Opera House, or the Magyar Állami Operaház if you want to impress your friends with your language skills, was built in 1884. Designed by the fabulous Miklós Ybl, this building is a true representation of neo-Renaissance architecture. Imagine stepping back in time to an era of elegant ball gowns, top hats, and dramatic musical performances. Talk about a glow-up!

The Glitz and Glam of the Interior :

Now, let’s step inside, shall we? 🎶 The moment you walk through those grand doors, prepare to have your breath taken away. The foyer is adorned with gold accents and stunning frescoes that make you feel like royalty. Seriously, you might even want to twirl in your best outfit. Just be careful—there might be a few serious opera-goers around who don’t appreciate impromptu dance breaks!

Don’t miss the ceilings

Catch a Show: Why Not?

If you think the exterior is impressive, just wait until you see the stage! With a seating capacity of around 1,300, this place has hosted some of the most talented performers in the world. Whether you’re a fan of traditional operas, ballets, or contemporary performances, there’s likely something on the schedule to tickle your fancy. Just imagine enjoying a powerful aria while sitting in a stunning seat surrounded by gilded decor. It’s like being part of a live Instagram filter!
